Taqueria las Tortugas Serves Up Freshly Made, Authentic Mexican Cuisine with a Community Deal

Energy Corridor Farmers Market Launches April 1st

When we choose communities to live in we often pick a community with great amenities; sometimes it’s close to work, for others it is the proximity to good schools, or it's the outdoor recreation or cultural activities that are close to home. The Energy Corridor District is a community that strives to provide all of these amenities and on April 1st, 2017 the District will finally have its own Farmers Market!

The market wil make its home in Grisby Square at 14710 Grisby Rd., in the parking lot at Grisby Road and Grasshopper Lane. Residents and visitors of the area will now be able to walk and bike to Grisby Square, pick up groceries from local farmers and producers, and then even stick around and grab brunch or lunch at one of the many surrounding restaurants or visiting food trucks. On a weekly basis the market will feature a non-profit, a local business, or musician/band in an effort to make the market a community event and a bigger attraction for the Grisby Square area. The District will also place a handful of picnic benches in the Grisby Square area, which will gives market guests more places to grab some food, sit, and enjoy the market atmosphere. The picnic benches are going to be a part of a larger community involvment plan, where they will be painted by local schools or organziations in the Energy Corridor area.

Market hours for 2017 will be 9:00am-1:00pm every Saturday and the season will run from April 1st through June 24th, then the market will shut down in July and August, and come back September 2nd and run until December 2nd. Ellen Dortenzo, Market Manager, will be the point of contact at the weekly event and she is also the person to contact if you have any questions or comments.

Be sure to check out the soft opening of the Energy Corridor Farmers Market at the Artisan Outdoor Market on Saturday, March 25th, 2017 from 11:00am - 6:00pm at Republic Square. Four market vedors will be featured at the art market selling their goods and promoting the launch of the Farmers Market just a week later.
