St. Basil the Great Greek Orthodox Church Celebrates Festival of Greece

St. Basil the Great Greek Orthodox Church Celebrates Festival of Greece May 13-16Join St. Basil the Great Greek Orthodox Church for its annual Festival of Greece celebration Thursday, May 13 through Sunday, May 16.  The festival will feature live music, traditional Greek dancing including the Kalamatiano, Syrtaki, Baidouska and Tsamiko and, of course, great Greek food.  The menu includes all of your favorites including souvlaki, spanakopita, tiropita, loukoumades and baklava.

Fun for the entire family, Clutch of the Houston Rockets will make an appearance on Friday from 6 – 8 p.m. and again Sunday from 2 – 4 p.m. with the Houston Rockets Cheerleaders.  Cooking demonstrations will be held Friday at 8 p.m., Saturday at 4 p.m. and 8 p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m. and 5 p.m.  And, everyone will be a winner with the carnival games such as the Iron Man Challenge, Double Bay Slide, Fun House Bounce, Duck Pond and more.

St. Basil the Great Greek Orthodox Church will be open for visitors during scheduled tours with Father Anastasios Raptis.  Located at 1100 Eldridge Parkway, St. Basil’s Greek Festival is open Thursday from 4 – 9 p.m., Friday from 11 a.m. – 11 p.m., Saturday from 10 a.m. – 11 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. – 6 p.m.  For specific tour times, ticket prices and additional details, visit www.stbasil-houston.org.
