Special Thanks to Sponsors, Organizers and Volunteers of Trash Bash

Trash BashThe annual River, Lakes, Bays ‘N Bayous Trash Bash was a success again this year! The event would not be possible without all of the wonderful volunteers, organizers and sponsors. Preserving and protecting the environment is a great cause to support and the Energy Corridor District is honored to be one of 17 Houston-area sites for the cleanup. Special thanks to the Briar Forest Super Neighborhood for taking the lead as chief coordinator and for keeping this event in the upper reaches of Buffalo Bayou. Volunteers met at Terry Hershey Park before heading to 12 different locations to clean the wooded areas along Buffalo Bayou from Highway 6 to Beltway 8 as well as parts of Langham Creek.

Trash Bash is a statewide event, funded, in part, through the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality Supplemental Environmental Projects program. The initiative focuses on cleaning the environment and educating the public on the importance of water resources.  For more information, please go to http://www.trashbash.org/site_buffalo_bayou_upper.htm
