Soon, many Shell employees will be relocating from downtown Houston to facilities in The Energy Corridor, but that doesn’t mean those who now enjoy the convenience of public transit have to give that up.
Shell employees leaving downtown’s One Shell Plaza will be working at the company’s Woodcreek campus on Interstate 10, a facility recently designed and built from scratch to accommodate Shell’s team member needs.
And while many of Shell’s transit commuters may be reluctant to leave behind downtown’s convenient bus and rail access, they may be surprised to learn of METRO Houston’s direct route 228 service between downtown and the Addicks Park and Ride – which makes three trips every morning and afternoon, including stops the Woodcreek campus on North Dairy Ashford.
In the morning, commuters can board the METRO 228 bus at Smith & St. Joseph streets downtown for a direct ride to Shell’s Woodcreek campus at 6:11 a.m., 6:37 a.m. and 7:14 a.m. A brisk and stress-free ride 30 minutes later, you’re just steps from the office.
Return trips are available at 3:47 p.m., 4:27 p.m. and 4:54 p.m. As always, refer to METRO schedules and the METRO T.R.I.P. app for the most up-to-date travel information.
These trips connect to many METRO bus and light rail routes downtown, with service throughout the Houston region. Better still, all METRO buses are equipped with bike racks – providing more commuting options for Energy Corridor employees.
