Reduced Holiday Rates Announced for CarShare

Grab a shared vehicle for $5/hour – including fuel, insurance and a smiling face

Black Friday? Bah humbug. CarShare is reducing rates for the entire months of November and December to help commuters leave their vehicles at home, while having a car available to run holiday errands from work.

For just $5 an hour, you can rent a CarShare vehicle at one of four locations with special holiday rates from Enterprise CarShare and The Energy Corridor District. That’s all in – fuel, insurance and the grin you’ll have from grabbing a great deal, while leaving your vehicle at home.

“Reducing CarShare rates during the holidays helps commuters who vanpool, carpool bus, walk or bike to work so they can have a car available at a very reasonable rate,” explains Kelly Rector, transportation coordinator for The District. “You’ll be able to get gifts, have lunch with a friend or see a holiday performance at your child’s school and still be able to take advantage of alternative commuting.”

CarShare’s fuel-efficient vehicles are available at Ashford 5 (14701 St. Mary's Lane), Eldridge Place (Memorial Drive and N. Eldridge Pkwy), Two Westlake Park (580 WestLake Park Blvd.) and Eldridge Oaks (1080 Eldridge Pkwy).

Holidays mean more traffic congestion as commuters opt to take their own vehicles in order to run errands. Offering reduced CarShare rates will give commuters an inexpensive reason to leave their personal vehicles at home, says Rector.

The District’s Enterprise CarShare program is a Congestion Mitigation and Air Quality (CMAQ) federal grant pilot project.
