The long awaited Terry Hershey Park Pedestrian and Bicycle Trail north of IH10 is under construction. The Energy Corridor District is partnering with Harris County Precinct Three, TxDOT and the US Army Corps of Engineers to help develop the 2.53 miles of trail connecting the existing Terry Hershey Park to the Addicks Park and Ride. The connection includes a previously built trail under IH-10 between SH-6 and Eldridge Parkway. The 1.4 million dollar project will provide a safe connection to the METRO/ Addicks Park and Ride for everyone who has access to Terry Hershey Park along Buffalo Bayou. This connection will provide increased opportunities for bike & ride commuting between downtown and The Energy Corridor District for pleasure, recreation or employment.
The project is currently about 25% complete and is anticipated to be open and ready for use by the end of the first quarter of 2013.
