Mark your calendar for the Energy Capital Run on Saturday, October 23, benefitting the Joint Association’s work to stop Spina Bifida.
The event begins at 8 a.m. with a one mile run for kids and adults. 5K run and walk will follow at 8:20 a.m. Wheelchair participants are invited to attend both events. Both courses begin at 1401 Enclave Parkway along the tree-lined, landscaped streets of the Energy Corridor.
Early registration (prior to October 10) for the one mile run is $10 for children and $15 for adults. Registration for the 5K run and walk is $25. Don’t miss the after-race celebration with free food, drinks, prizes, awards and music! The Energy Corridor District is proud to serve as a sponsor of the event.
The Energy Capital Run raises awareness of the birth defect Spina Bifida, which affects approximately eight babies born in the United States each day. The most common permanently disabling birth defect in the U.S., Spina Bifida occurs when a baby’s spine fails to close during the first few months of pregnancy.
