The Energy Corridor District is pleased to welcome John Nunez, former leader of Rideshare Business Development for Houston’s Metropolitan Transit Authority (METRO), as Transportation Manager. In this role, John will serve as a contact point for the transit concerns of area businesses and residents and manage the implementation of transit programs including bicycling, walking, vanpools and carpools.
In addition John is responsible for developing initiatives to promote awareness of the benefits and values the recently launched METRO 75 Energy Corridor Connector will bring to area businesses and residents.
“The Energy Corridor District is delighted to have John leading its transit initiatives. His vast transportation expertise will ensure that the Energy Corridor has the optimal transit plan in place to meet West Houston’s continued growth,” said Clark Martinson, General Manager of the Energy Corridor District.
A business technology graduate from the University of Houston, Nunez has held numerous leadership positions including Human Resources for the U.S. Treasury Department. During his time with METRO, Nunez participated in the implementation of METRO’s Smart Card transit fare card, as well as generated significant growth in the Regional Vanpool Program. Nunez most recently acted as a project manager for 2Plus Inc. working closely with local Transportation Management Organizations.
