The future of how people will get to, from and around The Energy Corridor, will be featured at the West Houston Mobility Study public meeting and open house 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, July 22, at Houston Community College Northwest - Spring Branch Campus, Beltway 8 and Interstate 10.
The Houston-Galveston Area Council (H-GAC) is inviting West Houston community members, residents, business owners and local officials to learn and comment about long-range transportation planning, population scenarios and potential mobility strategies.
Officially known as the Houston Subregional Planning Initiative (SPI), the study is underway to identify locally developed transportation goals and solutions to facilitate mobility in West Houston. The multi-modal study is looking at all forms of transportation – vehicle, mass, pedestrian, cycling and alternative commuting.
Findings on existing conditions, future population and employment growth, potential infrastructure enhancements and transportation policy strategies in the study area will be presented. H-GAC representatives will be on hand to answer questions.
