EnergyFest Grabs Best of Houston Nomination, With Sporting News Grill & More

Best of HoustonCelebrate Houston Press Readers’ Choice Nominations with Celebrities & Live Entertainment, Sept. 12, Holiday Inn Houston West

One of the Gulf Coast’s pre-eminent readers’ polls has nominated EnergyFest as best 2013 Houston festival.

Seven other Energy Corridor favorites also garnered Best of Houston nominations.

EnergyFest, the inaugural family street festival hosted by the Energy Corridor District last spring, joins nominees Sporting News Grill for best hotel bar and best sports bar, Terry Hershey Park for best place to hike, best bike trail, best jogging trail and best swimming pool, and TopGolf for best golf course.

Energy Corridor fans are invited to a Readers’ Choice nomination party 5-8 p.m. Thursday, September 12, at the Sporting News Grill, Holiday Inn Houston – Energy Corridor, to enjoy free food and drinks, live entertainment, a DJ and a celebrity appearance or two.

Better still, attendees will get a primer on how to vote for their Energy Corridor favorites. Houston Press Street Team members will be on hand to show how people can vote online at readerschoice.houstonpress.com, or via a Best of App for Android or iOS.

The 10 most popular categories will accept votes via texting. EnergyFest is in one of those categories. Vote by texting to 61721, using text code BOH3.

“It’s exciting to see that The Energy Corridor could win as many as eight Readers Choice Awards,” says Rachael Weaver, Community Relations Coordinator for The Energy Corridor District and EnergyFest organizer. “We’re honored that Houstonians have recognized our first-ever EnergyFest with a Best of Houston nomination.”
