The Houston-Galveston Area Council Parks & Natural Areas Awards recently recognized the Energy Corridor District for its Bicycle Master Plan which promotes bicycle facilities, improved access, education and safety within the Energy Corridor.
With the mission of promoting the expansion and enhancement of the region’s parks and natural areas, entries were evaluated on innovation, merit and regional impact. These projects serve as models for planning and project implementation for parks and natural areas in the region. Winning entries demonstrate best practices and collaboration between developers, local governments, engineering and planning agencies, businesses, resources, environmental groups and citizens.
