As May is National Bike to Work Month, the Energy Corridor District is encouraging residents and employees to lace up their shoes, pump up those tires and try cycling for fun, fitness and transportation. With over 50 miles of scenic trails throughout the Energy Corridor and surrounding area, you can enjoy a leisurely weekend bike ride with the family or pump it up for a great workout.
And, for the sixth year, employees are encouraged to pedal to the office on Bike to Work Day, Thursday, May 20. The District will be providing a complimentary continental breakfast from 6:30 a.m. to 8 a.m. at the gazebo in Terry Hershey Park. Stop by for music, giveaways and great prizes.
If you need additional incentive, research shows that when traveling distances up to five miles, bicycling has proven to be faster than other forms of transportation. Plus, commuting time can be used to stay in shape instead of sitting in frustrating Houston traffic! Bicycle commuters get to work on time more frequently and are happier and more productive at work.
Please mark your calendar now for May 20 and join us for “Bike to Work Day.”
