Energy Corridor District and TxDOT Landscape Along IH-10

IH-10As part of the Green Ribbon Project, the Energy Corridor District is pleased to partner with TxDOT to landscape IH-10 and State Highway 6 frontage roads. Most of the trees and shrubs selected for the planting are native with high sustainability as they tend to grow quickly and last longer with minimal watering and maintenance needs. The Green Ribbon Project began in 1997 in the Houston region as a referendum to integrate environmental aesthetics with roadway functionality. As we are committed to the environment, the Energy Corridor District will continue to provide additional maintenance of IH-10 hardscape and softscape areas. The District and TxDOT are looking at new ways to make the freeway corridors even more attractive.
