Custom Bike Racks Now Being Offered Free of Charge to Energy Corridor Businesses

Custom Energy Corridor-branded bike racks are now being offered by the Energy Corridor District to local businesses.

The complimentary program – available to any business in the Energy Corridor – could increase the number of safe, secure and convenient places to park a bike, according to Peter Eccles, Active Transportation Coordinator for the District.

“Our new bike rack program aims to enhance the bicycling amenities here in the District,” says Eccles. “These custom-designed racks will increase awareness that the Energy Corridor is a great place to ride a bike. They’ve also been designed to serve as eye-pleasing public art.”

Better still, explains Eccles, the racks will complement the District’s soon-to-be-launched Energy Corridor Bcycle shared bike program, providing more places to securely park a Dash smart bicycle.

The District will provide, install and maintain the bike racks, which were designed by District staff members. In addition to local businesses, the District plans to install racks in the public right-of-way at strategic locations, says Eccles.

Businesses interested in getting their own Energy Corridor bike rack can fill out a brief application form available by contacting Peter Eccles at peccles@energycorridor.org.
