BP Puts its Energies into Planting Trees in Energy Corridor

Corporate volunteerism is really taking root in the Energy Corridor District! Just last month, BP partnered with Trees For Houston and the Energy Corridor District to plant 40 trees along Memorial Brook Boulevard in the Energy Corridor. These green-thumbed volunteers planted 5 and 15 gallon mixed native trees throughout the esplanade, which recently underwent construction. In addition to being aesthetically attractive, the new trees bring more shade to the area, reducing urban heat and making everything cooler. Trees play a vital role in our urban landscape. With the continued help of partners like BP and The Energy Corridor District, Trees for Houston will be able to branch out even further and increase the size and scope of Houston’s urban forest canopy.
