BP MS 150 – A Celebration of Success

PB MS150The energy is high in the Energy Corridor as area employees and residents were recently honored for their dedication to the 2012 BP MS 150, a two-day fundraising bike ride organized by the National MS Society. With more than 3,000 volunteers for the BP MS 150 each year, it takes a lot of energy to raise $17 million to create a world free of MS. The Society celebrated volunteer leaders on June 12 at an appreciation dinner underwritten by BP. The evening was a celebration of success as attendees reflected on the overwhelming sense of community the two-day event created as they poured themselves into the cause.

In addition to recognizing individual volunteers and committee members, some teams received special recognition. The ConocoPhillips team led by captain and Energy Corridor District board member, Steve Moskowitz was honored as "Most Spirited Team" for their camaraderie, team energy, and fundraising. BP, the event’s title sponsor, received the Best Breakpoint award and ExxonMobil received the Extra Mile Award. Steve Moskowitz was also honored for his work on the BP MS 150 Safety Committee along with fellow members from BP, ExxonMobil, Shell, and Schlumberger to name a few for their dedication to creating a safe event for all.

The BP MS 150 is expected to exceed their goal of raising $17 million this year, largely due to the energy from many companies in the Energy Corridor and thousands of volunteers. Support the National MS Society today by visiting www.ms150.org.
