Get yourself ready for May 17th – Bike to Work Day! We are down to the final weeks before the Energy Corridor celebrates National Bike to Work Month and now is the perfect time to make sure you have everything ready for the big day. Biking to work is a wonderful way to skip the heavy Houston traffic, reduce emissions, get fresh air on your commute and exercise! If you need facts, research shows that when traveling distances up to five miles, bicycling has proven to be faster than any other form of transportation. Plus, your commuting time can be used to stay in shape, freeing up time you might have spent exercising. That has to be better than sitting in frustrating Houston traffic! Biking commuters get to work on time more frequently and are happier and more productive at work.
The Energy Corridor District is hosting a complimentary breakfast at the gazebo in Terry Hershey Park for all cyclists from 6:30 a.m. to 7:30 a.m. The festivities also include music, giveaways and prizes.
