Energy Corridor District Receives Federal Funding for METRO 75 Energy Corridor Circulator
The Energy Corridor District was recently approved by the United States Department of Transportation Federal Transit Administration to receive funding through the Job Access and Reverse Commute (JARC) program, making the METRO 75 Energy Corridor Circulator a reality. The Circulator will run north and south along Eldridge Parkway between Westheimer and Memorial Drive and along Memorial Drive and I-10 between SH 6 and N. Dairy Ashford from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. beginning January 25, 2010.

Holiday Inn Opens in the Energy Corridor This February
Soon, business travelers and visitors to the Energy Corridor will have another option for overnight accommodations - a next-generation Holiday Inn. Located at the intersection of Enclave and Eldridge Parkway, the new 122 room, 5 story hotel will offer a 24-hour business center, workout facility and indoor pool in addition to 2,200 square feet of meeting and banquet space. The Sporting News Grill, a full service restaurant and bar, located within the hotel, will provide quality food and beverages with multiple televisions broadcasting your favorite sporting news channels.

New Belle Sherman Kendall Library Set to Open in March 2010
The new Belle Sherman Kendall Library and Community Center is slated to open in March 2010. Moving from its current location at 14330 Memorial to its new location at 609 N. Eldridge, the library’s new home will double the space of the existing branch, from 9,600 square feet to more than 19,000 making it the largest City library outside of the main library downtown. Additionally, this $10.8 million building represents several firsts for Houston libraries – the first three-story building in the Houston branch system and the first to have a drive-up window. The new facility will also serve as a city park, gymnasium and trailhead to Terry Hershey Park.
